Dance
“JC and Ash were both so generous with their time and compliments and we honestly felt like pros at the end of the dance lessons. It was a beautiful way to connect as a couple before our ceremony and meant we got to know JC really well before the special day.”

Meet the Dance Teachers
You probably know all about Jeanne-Clare “JC” the Marriage Celebrant but click on our bios below to learn more about our dance credentials.

Jeanne-Clare “JC” Storace began her formal dance and performance training at age 4 at the Heidelberg and District Ballet School in 1993. She moved from ballet to contemporary jazz and tap dancing at age 7 and then ventured into the world of partner dancing at 18, training at Melbourne Latin Dance. JC began swing dancing in 2008 and started taking it to the stage as a member of the Brat Pack performance troupe in 2014, Harlem Shout in 2016 and Double Rhythm Riot in 2017: a troupe in which she is still an active member.
JC loves social dancing, competing and has been teaching swing dancing for six years and currently teaches at Swing Patrol Club Maxie’s and Rusty’s Swing Dancing in Mitcham.
In 2021, JC “married” her love of dancing and public speaking, became a celebrant, and started her business Ardent Celebrations. In addition to marrying couples, JC offers private dance lessons. This includes first dance lessons, with her partner Ashley, and she utterly adores getting to know couples better through the process of teaching them to dance.

Ash McLean started rock ‘n’ roll dancing in 2016 and began swing dancing in 2017 after being completely captivated by a clip of the Collegiate Shag style. Ash’s meteoric dance rise resulted in him being invited to join performance troupe Double Rhythm Riot a year later, where he is still a current member.
Ash commenced teaching in 2022 at Swing Patrol Club Maxie’s as a collegiate shag instructor. Ash also provides private lessons with JC through Ardent Celebrations where he teaches couples preparing for their first dance or for any other occasion.
Ash loves teaching, competing, social dancing and performing and loves seeing others find joy in dancing.
