Scott and Austin’s Story Poem

On August 26th in the year 2020,
We gather to celebrate love that is plenty,
For a marriage between friends Austin and Scott,
Their story is one that will not be forgot,

Like couples before them, meeting at work was their way,
Austin an engineer and Scott in QA,
In his own words, this was not Austin’s plan,
“I can’t believe I was paid to meet such a magnificent man”,

Good friends at first but they both became keen,
On October 21st in 2016,
Austin and Scott shared the same sense of fun,
And discovered that Love is a Battlefield 1,

Bonding like this may sound kind of quirky,
Forging love on horseback in the deserts of Turkey,
Riding together they took out a train,
They died on that quest, their loved unrestrained,

Austin knew in that moment that Scott was the one,
Scott’s feelings soon followed in poppy fields filled with sun,
Austin revived him, knowing the price,
And Scott ardently admired Austin’s huge sacrifice,

They both love all birds, and ducks that go quack,
Scott decided to propose through a message on Slack,
10 minutes it took until the proposal was seen,
A mad rush ensued to find the best react memes,

And so here we are with Austin and Scott,
To celebrate their love as they tie the knot,
In a world so uncertain, we attempt to endeavour,
To find like this couple, a love that is forever.
